Love Learning <3 with Play of the Wild

I’ve worked with children and families for over 15 years.  I have a background in therapeutic social work but have also worked in schools for many years. I went to the University of California (Berkeley) for undergrad and then completed an Masters of Social Work. After some time working with vulnerable children and families, I decided I wanted focus more on education. I completed a PGCE with the Institute of education and then taught in a London Primary School for a number of years. After having children, I have decided to take a break from teaching so that I can focus on my family.  Play of the Wild is a way for me to share some of the fun learning ideas from home and school.

I have a small confession to make… I’m dyslexic (this may not seem so shocking when you start to read my jumbly writing).  When I first started teaching people seemed surprised that I would want to teach considering the way I struggled – particularly with spelling (and reading a bit as well) when I was at school.  However, I received a lot of support and encouragement which helped me develop strategies to cope with these challenges and this has helped me love learning.  I hope to share this passion for learning with others.  Enjoy Play of the Wild!
