EDUCATION IS AN ADMIRABLE THING, BUT IT IS WELL TO REMEMBER FROM TIME TO TIME THAT NOTHING THAT IS WORTH KNOWING CAN BE TAUGHT.— Oscar Wilde.
Play of the Wild
My name is Sabrina and I’ve created Play of the Wild to support parents and teachers so that they encourage and inspire children to love learning. Today, there is enormous pressure on teachers and students to learn certain information for exams. While I appreciate the importance of teaching children certain information, I think a lot of parents and educators would agree it’s not the end all and be all of learning. There is also a huge amount of pressure on teachers, parents and children to achieve certain results that can ruin the fun in learning. It can also be really boring for children and can really put children off school – the last thing we want to be doing!!
I strongly believe that children should enjoy learning and spend as much time outdoors in nature as possible. I know in reality this isn’t always possible but hopefully I can help you find more ways for children to learn outdoors and use nature in everyday learning and life. Practical, hands-on activities are also important to help children explore, engage and learn about the world around them.
I hope that Play of the Wild will be able to help you find some fun ways to play and learn with children!
