Playing tickle rhymes and games are a nice way to build attachments with your baby as they provide positive shared experiences. My babies have all really enjoyed this rhyme as it provides a mini hand massage as well as plenty of tickles and giggles. 🙂

Round and Round the Garden is an English nursery rhyme. It includes actions and then tickles at the end for baby. There are different variations in Scotland, Ireland and South Africa but this is the main version that I know and enjoy doing with my children.

Verse 1

Round and round the garden (circle your finger around baby’s palm as you say this)

Went the Teddy Bear,

One step, (take a ‘step’ with your finger up baby’s arm)

Two Step, (take another ‘step’ with your finger up baby’s arm)

Tickly under there. (Tickle baby under the arm)

Verse 2

Round and round the haystack (circle your finger around baby’s palm as you say this).

Went the little mouse.

One step, (take a ‘step’ with your finger up baby’s arm)

Two steps, (take another ‘step’ with your finger up baby’s arm)
